Honey Heart Yoga is is a dynamic form of yoga which uses the flow of Ashtanga, the alignment of Iyengar and the healing properties of Desakichar to deliver a fluid balance of energy. A Vinyasa Flow class will comprise of a flow of postures based on a theme or an intention and will begin and end with a chant Students should expect to get hot, work through sun salutations followed by an intelligently scripted flow of postures that prepare the body for peak poses using breath counts to move from one posture to another. Once the peak pose is reached the remainder of the class works down towards a slower pace with seated poses and inversions finishing with Savasana, deep relaxation for a maximum of ten minutes. Students should expect to be assisted and the teacher will work round the entire class, she will not be on her mat! All Vinyasa flow classes are accompanied by music and make reference to yoga philosophy, however respects the views and beliefs of all those in attendance – yoga is to yoke – to observe yourself and explore your own possibilities in body and mind. Beginners Classes - run for 4 weeks (4 sessions) where we learn key yoga poses and alignment. Open Classes - run weekly and everyone is welcome. Asanas/poses are modified to allow for experience, physicality and depth of posture. ALL are welcome. Classes are set at a level to encourage dynamic movement. Students will be encouraged to bring their own mats however 12 thick mats will be available.
